Past, Present and Future
Almost fifty years ago a family in Greece had a vision of building a better life in Canada It was that in 1963 Tom and Joanna Moumouris chose to make Toronto their home.
Within 3 years of arriving the Moumouris's invested much of their savings in a retail operation that prospered and moved location 3 times over the next 12 years, landing finally on Queen St. W. at Spadina where the Moumouris's leather designs, skillful custom work and customer service attracted a large following among stars of rock'n roll, their managers, and people within its surrounding subculture.
When Tom and Joanna's son, George, joined the business in 1990 he brought a new vision to the business. He renamed the banner "Due West" and expanded the apparel selection with emerging brands that earned the company a reputation for being a leader in premium denim and casual clothing. That reputation carries on and the business continues to grow.
Today Due West operates out of the same address and represents top rated brands for men and women - names such as Diesel, G-Star, andNudie Jeans, to name just a few. The company added a new shop, "Next Door", in reaction to the customers increasing demand for cleaner, more directional fashion focused collections. Here you will find elite names such as John Varvatos, Y-3, Moncler DSquared, D&G, Acne Jeans, and J Lindeberg, with price points aimed at the contemporary market.
The future for DueWest and NextDoor is continuously focused. The company continues to evolve and grow with the launch of its new online store www.DWNDCLOTHING.com, offering exclusive brands of clothing and footwear, vintage eyewear and accessories, and brand collaborations ranging from exclusive wines to premium skincare products.
There is no limit to where DWΔND can go. A longstanding landmark on Queen Street West, the company is now destined to become an online icon as well.
